Readjust your focus
Here in Italy, the humidity can be thick and heavy in the air. Normally I could look out and see a beautiful view of the mountains today I only see a shadow. I know that the mountains are still there but I just can’t see it as clearly as I did when there was no humidity in the air.
It would be easy for me to say that the mountains are no longer there because I can’t see them clearly. Or that the mountains are not beautiful anymore because my focus of them is now different.
Isn’t that how we are towards God at times. Because the cares of this world, our problems, our loved ones are acting up we can no longer see God in the midst because of the issues blocking our view. I can’t see Him as clearly as I use to so He must not be there. Wait Lord I don’t hear you like I use to so you must not be there. I see something like a shadow but ummmmmm I am not really sure.
But I am reminded of when Paul and Silas was placed in jail. I am sure they could not see the light of day because they was placed in the inner cell. But although they could not see God in the jail or hear His voice at that moment they did something that changed the bondage that they were in. Acts 16: 24-27 says (main focus on verse 25)- 24 When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. 25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.
You find yourself with a view that you think that there is no way God can get you out of this, there is no way that He can save my loved ones, there is no way that I can get fired and be ok, God there is no way. Pray and Praise!!
Today I say to you readjust your focus. Even in a hopeless situation Paul and Silas didn’t look at the situation before them they looked to God. The amazing thing is in the midst of their praise they were no longer bond but the ones around them was also set free. Thank you Jesus.
When we are in that place where we can’t see Him and we can’t feel Him and we are unsure readjust your focus. Psalms 121:1-2 – 1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Romans 5:9 – Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! So just readjust your focus. Know that God will not leave you or forsake you. So if you are feeling like He has left you, Readjust your focus because He will never move he is omnipresent. Could it be that you have moved? Readjust your focus ask for forgiveness and praise His Holy name. Hallelujah!
