Lift, Carry, and Pull

Many moons ago, I remember doing circuit training which worked every muscle group. Some of the exercises were easy to do because that were the muscle that I worked all the time while some was really hard because it didn’t use it as often as I would like to have. Often, in our lives we find ourselves in situations that cause us to exercise a muscle that we don’t normally use.

Many times that is how we feel in our Christian walk. There are muscles that we use and there are muscles that we don’t use as often. It is easy to pray when everything is going well but what do you do when you have to pray all night long for that marriage, that child, or family? Will you tarry or give up because now your muscle has gotten tired or do we press thru knowing that God will make a way out of no way.

Sometimes you will have to lift:

Psalm 121:1-2 – 1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Psalm 145:1 – I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King! and I’ll bless your name into eternity.

Psalm 30: 1 – I will lift You up, O Lord, for You have lifted me up. You have not let those who hate me stand over me in joy.

We must carry:

There will be times that we find ourselves in pain, bitterness, hatred because we are troubled with people and circumstance but we must remember to carry these things to the Lord. Yes it may hurt, yes it may make me cry, yes it may cause you to want to quit but you have to know that you are not alone.

Psalm 55:22 – Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved

Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand

We must pull:

Psalm 27:17 – As iron sharpens iron,So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

We are to reach back and help pull our brothers and sisters up. What good is it for us to know the goodness of Jesus but keep it to ourselves. If everybody reach back and pull each other not only is the person reaching will grab someone but they will also be grabbed and pulled as well.

It doesn’t matter if you are a sister, brother, minister, decon, elder, pastor, evangelist, bishop everyone needs someone to pull them even if its just accountability.

Yes there will be muscles used that has not been worked in a while like compassion, forgiveness, love and although it hurts to use them we must. Or will we be like Cain when God ask us about our brother(sister). Genesis 4:9 – And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?

Yes I am my brother and sister keeper. We are better together!!! Love you.
